Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) dust is a hazardous waste product created during the recycling of scrap steel.

The safe disposal and storage of EAF dust often represents a cost for steel plant operators.  However, the material can be re-processed in a kiln to recover residual zinc values.

Ocean Partners was able to utilise its existing network of zinc smelter customers to find a market for EAF dust produced at a steel recycling plant.  We also assisted the company in obtaining the necessary export documentation thereby enabling it to enjoy a revenue stream from what was previously regarded as a waste product.
